Vexcash Iconset 1
Vector Icon Set for Vexcash AG (September 2015)
The first official set of custom icons for the website and marketing needs of the FinTech company Vexcash AG (Berlin/Germany). The set also contains all the icons I had designed for previous Vexcash projects from the end of 2014. I started to combine these existing and new icons into one set in September 2015.
This icon set was to replace the previously used icons, that had been created over the previous years by various people, none of whom were designers. The old icons were all pixel-based and came in different resolutions and sizes as well as different styles and levels of detail, resulting in a very inconsistent overall look.
My new set, was created using Adobe Illustrator and vector-based from the start, with a focus on a uniform look. The icons of the new set were saved as SVG files, so they could be used in different sizes and colors.
The design was deliberately kept simple and reduced, which was entirely in line with the current design trend at the time and still works very well. However, some icons had to be designed differently, depending on the context in which they were used.
The set is quite small, because work on it was slow due to certain circumstances and the changed requirements made a new icon design necessary around 2017, which ultimately led to the second Vexcash icon set. However, some icons from this small set were also used later for various projects.
